Why I shot this subject: He is one of the top grossing mortgage bankers for Quicken Loans, yet somehow manages to party every night. He has somehow mastered how to have the best of both worlds, total insanity and stability.
This project was my favorite yet. Not only did I get the chance to really sit down with my subject and talk to them about their daily life, but I also got to see such a different part of life. Carl is in his late twenties and was more then happy to let me see what he's up to. It was just a great time to really delve deep and get to know the person that you are shooting. I don't think I will ever get used to shooting people, there's a level of anxiety that comes with it that you will never get from shooting a scene. My biggest challenge was directing him on what to do and where to go. Feeling like a stranger in his home and then having to shoot him on top of it was a little awkward but a rush.
