First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

So how does this pertain to photojournalism? It is extremely important to know as a journalist what your rights are and what you are aloud to do. Many journalists get turned away from assignments because they think what they are doing is illegal but a lot of the time it is not. As long as you aren't trespassing you should be completely okay to shoot. People get into trouble when they try to take pictures in places that they should not be.

Another situation is when people have there own moral code. Some people are more inclined to go out and get a story by putting themselves deep into a situation, others feel that it is wrong and feel as if they are interfering. No matter what you should always carry around the first amendment to help with tricky situations.
